On September 3rd, the expansion project of the Xiamen Institute for Food and Drug Quality Control (hereinafter referred to as the "Xiamen Institute") cum the Xiamen Medical Instrument Testing Center officially broke ground. This project is a key project of Xiamen City in 2024 as well as a key new infrastructure construction project in Xiamen City. The project consists of four main buildings, including the Medical Instrument and Food Testing Building, the Biomedical Safety Evaluation Laboratory Building, and the Pharmaceutical, Biological Products, and Cosmetics Testing Laboratory Building, and the Comprehensive Building, with a total investment of approximately RMB 1.278 billion. The main construction is expected to be completed by 2027. After the project is completed, it will significantly enhance the level of food and drug safety supervision in Xiamen, further protect and promote public health and safety, and also provide stronger technical support for the high-quality development of Xiamen's biopharmaceutical industry.
