1. Basic information
This area is located in Xiang’an District, Xiamen City, with a total planned area of 33.81 square kilometers, including the core area of the airport, the northern area of Dadeng, and Xiaodeng Island. Xiang'an Airport is positioned as a major international airport of China, regional pivotal airport, and cross-strait exchange gateway airport. The industry plan for this area targets the transformation from "city airport" to "airport city". This area is focused on building a three-dimensional industrial system composed of air transport, aviation science innovation and the modern service industry. Its nine development priorities include air transport services, air cargo logistics, aviation maintenance, aviation manufacturing, air sci-tech manufacturing, cultural tourism and leisure, supporting living facilities, international trade and the headquarters economy.

Xiamen Xiang'an new airport is positioned as an important international airport, regional hub airport and cross-strait exchange gateway airport in China. 3. Traffic conditions
Priority will be given to the construction of the two core networks, i.e., the rail transit network consisted of Intercity Rail Line R1, Metro Line 4 Express and Metro Line 3 Local, and the road traffic network consisted of Xidong Expressway, the Third East Passage, and the Airport Expressway and the Nan’an-Shijing Expressway Branch Line connected to the province's expressway network, as well as the integrated collection and distribution transportation system assisted by water transport. In the rail system, the R1 intercity railway line serves five cities in southwest Fujian and reserves access to the national railway network, providing multi-network integration to serve airport passenger flows. In the road system, Jiuxi Road and the Third Eastern Passageway connect to the city’s rapid road network to serve local traffic, while the Airport Expressway and Quanzhou–Jinmen Expressway connect to the highway network to serve regional traffic.

The industrial planning of the Xiamen Xiang'an Airport area aims to create an "airport industrial base," transforming the area from a "city airport" to an "airport city." The development focuses on "three major leading industries and nine key directions," prioritizing the development of air cargo logistics, airport-related scientific and technological innovation industries, and airport business and commerce. The industrial land in the area covers approximately 6.20 square kilometers, divided according to industrial development clusters:
1. Air Cargo Logistics: 2.24 square kilometers, focusing on the development of air transport services and air cargo logistics.
2. Airport-Related Scientific and Technological Innovation Industries: 1.88 square kilometers, focusing on the development of aviation maintenance, aviation manufacturing, and high-tech industries related to the airport.
3. Airport Business and Commerce: 2.08 square kilometers, focusing on the development of cultural tourism and leisure, fashion consumption, international trade, and headquarters economy.
