I. Overview:
Located in Xiamen's development axis around the bay in a total planned coverage area of 79.97 sq.km, Xiang'an New Town constitutes an important part of the Eastern Bay Area in the urban spatial structure of "one island, two bays and multiple clusters". The New Town serves as the main battleground of the "Great Development outside the Island" with the most potential for development. It is planned at a high starting point and will be built with high standards into a vibrant new coastal town that is livable, business-propelling, eco-friendly and prosperous, with integrated development of people, city and industry.
II. Resource Advantages:
1. Convenient access to traffic:
The New Town owns an expressway system of "six horizontals and three verticals" and 6 metro lines, enabling a 20-min access to Xiamen Island, the new airport, Xiamen Railway Station, Xiamen North Railway Station and other important nodes. Also, Xiamen East Station is planned here, which will become a stop of Chongqing-Xiamen High-speed Railway, Nanchang-Xiamen High-speed Railway and the Intercity Rail Line R1.
2. Ample space for development:
There is a concentrated construction area of about 57 sq.km, accounting for 71.3% of the New Town's total area, making it the only space in Xiamen available for large-scale development.
3. Pleasant ecological environment:
The ecological corridors of Xiatanwei Bay, Dongkeng Bay and Xiyan Mountain are reserved to form a blue-green spatial structure of "one bay, three corridors and multiple nodes", thus fostering a green living environment of "city in garden".
III. Investment Promotion Focus:
Riding on the driving force of the new sports center and the new conference & exhibition center, the New Town will capitalize on the advantages of coastal resources to build an ecosystem consisted of sports exhibition, tourism and leisure, film and culture industries. Financial services, headquarters economy and large commercial complexes will be introduced to build the business core area of the New Town. Also, relying on Torch (Xiang'an) Industrial Park and Xiang'an Digital Economy Industrial Park, efforts will be made to develop advanced manufacturing industry, digital economy industry and health care industry.
