I. Introduction
Xiamen Airport Economic Zone spans a total planned area of 98.6 square kilometers, bounded to the north by Xiang’an South Road (including XMU Xiang’an Campus), to the west by the Xiang’an end of Xiang’an Bridge, to the south by Liuwudian Port, and to the east by Xiang’an Airport in progress. It encompasses key facilities such as Xiang’an International Airport, the Airport Comprehensive Bonded Zone, Xiamen Science City Lianhe Area, and the provincial marine high-tech industrial park. Strategically situated at the core of the Xiamen-Quanzhou-Kinmen region, it stands among Fujian Province’s closest areas to Taiwan. Adhering to the vision of “rooted in Xiamen-Kinmen, regionally synergistic, serving both sides of the strait, connecting globally," Xiamen Airport Economic Zone leverages its functions as a comprehensive reform pilot zone, Xiamen bay sci-tech innovation hub, cross-strait integration pioneer area, and gateway city for new development patterns. The zone pioneers a green, low-carbon, smart, and shared coastal urban model for the future.

The zone, based on Xiamen’s "4+4+6" modern industrial system and guided by the development logic of "strengthening core industries, branding specialty sectors, and enhancing innovation services," has formed a "3+2+3" industrial structure. This comprises three key industries—green energy & new materials, life sciences, and next-generation IT—aiming to build full-chain competitiveness through cutting-edge technologies; two specialty industries—aerospace & aviation and marine technology—leveraging air-sea synergy to establish distinctive development benchmarks; and three innovation service sectors—global commercial services, specialized sci-tech services, and diversified cultural tourism services—empowering industries and elevating regional value.
