Recently, Xiamen issued the "Work Plan for Further Promoting the Construction of Xiamen's Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure System." According to the plan, Xiamen will strengthen support for the construction of the electric vehicle charging infrastructure system, including integrating charging infrastructure planning with parking, transportation, and power planning. New technologies and projects related to charging and battery swapping will be included in the city's investment promotion, technological innovation, and technological transformation policy support frameworks. The goal is to establish a comprehensive charging infrastructure system by 2025 that covers urban and rural areas, balances fast and slow charging, and is intelligent, open, convenient, and efficient. The plan emphasizes the construction of a highway charging network focused on fast charging, with supplementary slow charging, and aims to increase the coverage of charging facilities in service areas and toll station parking lots. There will also be a focus on strengthening the charging network in residential areas, office zones, commercial centers, industrial hubs, and recreational areas, with encouragement to include charging facilities in the renovation of old neighborhoods. Additionally, under the "Xiamen Electric Vehicle Charging Facilities Support and Subsidy Measures," new electric vehicle charging facilities built between 2024 and 2026 will be eligible for subsidies.
