Recently, foreigners as well as residents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan in Xiamen can now complete online business registration certification through the "iXiamen" app. By simply completing real-name authentication in the app and clicking on "Enterprise Services - Business Services - Business Registration Certification," the process can be completed with a single click, greatly enhancing convenience.
This development follows the April integration of the "Digital Identity (Xiamen Code)" with the national exit and entry document identity authentication platform, enabling Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents to complete online business registration certification. It further extends the same convenience to overseas Chinese passports and foreign permanent residence permits, comparable to the use of mainland resident ID cards.
Through the "Digital Identity (Xiamen Code)," users can not only conduct online business registration but also apply for personal income tax subsidies for Taiwan compatriots, verify the identities of Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan students and their guardians for school enrollment, and complete housing and rental application verifications online.
The "Digital Identity (Xiamen Code)" is a city-level network identity authentication public service infrastructure hosted by the Xiamen Municipal Data Management Bureau, operated by the Xiamen Information Center, and constructed and managed by Xiamen Danao. This platform is integrated with the national identity authentication platform and provides anonymized network identity authentication services to Xiamen residents. Since the beginning of this year, the range of identity documents verified by the platform has expanded from mainland ID cards to include seven commonly used documents such as Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan travel permits and residence permits, with an expected annual verification capacity of up to 3 million services.
Additionally, the "Digital Identity (Xiamen Code)" leverages its foundational identity verification capabilities to fully support the "iEducation" platform. It provides identity verification services for mainland residents, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan residents, covering seven types of documents (mainland resident ID cards, Hong Kong and Macao resident residence permits, Taiwan resident residence permits, overseas Chinese passports, Hong Kong and Macao travel permits to the mainland, Taiwan travel permits to the mainland, and foreign permanent residence ID cards). These services support various educational processes such as school enrollment, student verification, and tuition fee exemption and subsidy review, and are currently in technical integration.
Moving forward, the "Digital Identity (Xiamen Code)" will continue to enhance its role as the foundational identity authentication platform for the city, expanding application scenarios to provide more convenient, efficient, and high-quality government services for citizens, compatriots from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and foreigners working and living in Xiamen. The goal is to gradually build a city-wide service system where "one code connects the city" and "one code serves all."
