As a global leader in bus manufacturing, Xiamen King Long Motor Group Co., Ltd. has established three well-known brands: King Long Buses, Golden Dragon, and Higer. In recent years, the group has implemented a "brand authorization and technology export" business model, engaging in KD (Knock-Down) project collaborations in 16 countries and regions. KD export refers to exporting vehicle parts for assembly overseas. By the end of March 2024, King Long's products had been exported to over 170 countries and regions, with cumulative exports exceeding 300,000 units, adding new highlights to Xiamen's development. Golden Dragon has successfully conducted KD projects in countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, Ethiopia, and Kazakhstan, achieving local production and sales. The automotive industry is a traditional strength of Xiamen. In 2023, Xiamen's automotive sector comprised 72 enterprises above the designated size, with an output value of 38.26 billion yuan. Xiamen encourages automotive companies to transform and upgrade, supporting the development of new energy commercial vehicles towards electrification, intelligence, and hydrogen power. The city also encourages companies to integrate into the Belt and Road Initiative by developing CKD (Completely Knocked Down) projects and products tailored to overseas markets, helping Xiamen's bus industry capture the high ground in bus exports.
