Xiamen boosts cross-border trade

As a national model city for optimizing the business environment, Xiamen has been conducting a special campaign to promote cross-border trade facilitation for three consecutive years since 2022. In May this year, the General Office of the Xiamen Municipal People's Government issued the "Xiamen 2024 Cross-Border Trade Facilitation Special Action Plan," which includes 39 enhancement tasks. This year, the main focus is on making customs clearance faster, logistics more convenient, and services more considerate, to further improve the satisfaction and sense of gain for enterprises. The special action promotes a 24/7 "green channel" for the expedited customs clearance of fresh agricultural products at Xiamen ports. Gaoqi International Airport, one of the nine airport hubs implementing direct transit facilitation measures, has officially introduced 24-hour direct transit passenger clearance without border control procedures. With the increasing popularity of new energy vehicles, this year's special action focuses on introducing related policies to enhance the technical content and added value of export products. Xiamen will also develop a collaborative digital enhancement system for cross-border e-commerce logistics, enabling real-time tracking of cross-border e-commerce cargo declarations and in-yard operations, supporting the development of new cross-border e-commerce models.
