Fujian-Guangdong-Hong Kong cross-border rapid clearance officially launched

On July 17, the Fujian-Guangdong-Hong Kong "Seamless Cross-Border Clearance" system was officially launched. This initiative will enable 24-hour cargo transportation between Fujian and Hong Kong, significantly reducing logistics costs and clearance times. The "Seamless Cross-Border Clearance" integrates the General Administration of Customs' "rapid highway cross-border clearance" reform with Hong Kong Customs' "Intermodal Transshipment Facilitation Scheme" (ITFS). Under this system, customs authorities in Fujian, Guangdong, and Hong Kong use a unified electronic lock and satellite positioning device to monitor transport vehicles in real-time throughout the entire process. This allows for seamless highway clearance between the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong without changing trucks or locks, ensuring fast and automatic clearance. Compared to traditional highway transit models, the "Seamless Cross-Border Clearance" can effectively reduce logistics costs by about 28% and transportation clearance times by about 30%, creating favorable conditions for enterprises in the three regions to expand their markets and stabilize and optimize supply chains. It also helps connect Fujian's advantageous products to international markets.
