Xiamen recently released the "Action Plan for High-Quality Development of the New Energy Storage Industry (2024-2026)." Adhering to the principles of "innovation-driven, cross-sector integration, scenario empowerment, demonstration promotion, and ecosystem building," Xiamen aims to accelerate the development of the new energy storage industry. By 2026, the city targets an average annual growth rate of over 20% in the new energy storage sector, with the core industry scale exceeding 50 billion yuan and related industries surpassing 100 billion yuan. This will help form a resource-rich, highly efficient industrial ecosystem and establish Xiamen as an internationally influential innovation hub in the new energy storage industry. Xiamen's new energy sector is thriving. In 2023, the city's new energy industry achieved an output value of 79.4 billion yuan, growing by 32.5%. From January to May this year, it reached 32.1 billion yuan, continuing its rapid development. Xiamen has developed a comprehensive new energy industry cluster centered on power batteries and energy storage batteries, supported by upstream materials and core components, and downstream car networking and charging infrastructure. The city boasts two complete industry chains for new energy batteries and new power systems, making it one of China's largest lithium battery manufacturing bases and one of the largest medium- and low-voltage switchgear manufacturing bases in China.
