Recently, the China (Xiamen) - New Zealand Economic and Trade Promotion Meeting, co-hosted by the Xiamen Council for the Promotion of International Trade and the New Zealand China International Trade Association Inc., was successfully held. Thirty-three associations and companies from Xiamen and New Zealand in industries such as biomedicine, culture and art, film and television, supply chain, energy storage, seafood, and food import and export engaged in on-site promotions and matchmaking. Since Xiamen and Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, became sister cities in 1987, the two cities have continuously expanded their cooperative fields, achieving rich results in economic trade, education, healthcare, culture and arts. Xiamen, one of China's first four special economic zones and a key gateway for the country's opening up along the southeast coast, plays a crucial role in both domestic and international dual circulation. With its multiple overlapping district advantages, including being an economic special zone, a BRICS innovation base, a free trade pilot zone, and a core area for the Maritime Silk Road initiative, Xiamen holds significant potential and a promising future in cooperation with New Zealand.
