On May 13th, the "GREEN RIO GRANDE," the world's largest pulp transport vessel designed and built independently by China, docked at Xiamen Port with a cargo of 65,000 tons of imported pulp. This marked the vessel's first domestic port call since it entered operation in January. The decision for the "GREEN RIO GRANDE" to make its first return journey to Xiamen Port is based on the deep cooperation between COSCO Shipping Specialized Carriers and Xiamen Port, as well as Xiamen's excellent business environment. From January to April this year, the port's pulp imports reached 173,800 tons, a 52.4% increase year-over-year. This maiden call by the world's largest specialized pulp carrier at Xiamen Port is set to further integrate the port into the global pulp logistics industry chain and ensure the stability of China's pulp material supply.
