World's largest civil aviation maintenance hangar under construction in Xiamen

The construction of Hangar 1 at the Xiamen Taikoo Xiang'an International Airport Maintenance Base is underway, setting records as the largest single-structure civil aviation maintenance hangar in the world in terms of both size and span. Measuring 525.1 meters in length and 73.85 meters in width, with a total steel usage of 5,220 tons for the main hall's truss structure, this hangar represents a significant milestone in aviation infrastructure. Located north of the Xiamen Xiang'an International Airport flight area, the maintenance base covers an area of 537,300 square meters with a built-up area of 292,300 square meters. The project is expected to be completed by November 2025, enhancing the airport's operational support capacity, service level, and contributing to the safe operation, efficiency improvement, and service enhancement of Xiamen Xiang'an Airport.
