Xiamen's per capita disposable income surpasses 70,000 Yuan for the first time in 2023

The Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Statistics and the Xiamen Survey Team of the National Bureau of Statistics recently released the Xiamen Economic and Social Development Statistical Bulletin for 2023. The city's GDP reached 806.649 billion yuan, marking a 3.1% increase over the previous year. The consumer market is gradually recovering, with total retail sales of consumer goods hitting 274.333 billion yuan. As a key city under the new development paradigm, Xiamen's total import and export value rose to 947.044 billion yuan, a 2.7% increase, outpacing national and provincial growth rates. Trade with BRICS nations and Belt and Road Initiative countries grew by 14.4% and 1.4%, respectively, while trade with RCEP member countries remained stable. Cross-border e-commerce imports and exports soared by 65%. Exports of "new energy trinity" products like lithium batteries, electric passenger vehicles, and solar cells increased 1.7 times. In 2023, Xiamen's population continued to grow, with a permanent resident count of 5.327 million and a household registration population surpassing 3 million for the first time. Residents' income growth outpaced GDP, with per capita disposable income exceeding 70,000 yuan for the first time, up by 4.5%.
