Xiamen recently unveiled 53 significant projects in four main areas for 2023, including infrastructure and public welfare construction, the advanced manufacturing industry doubling plan, the science and technology innovation leadership project, and investment attraction efforts. The city reported considerable progress and fruitful outcomes in these sectors throughout the year. In 2023, 57 provincial key infrastructure projects in Xiamen saw a total investment of 50.9 billion yuan, achieving 110.5% of the annual investment plan. The city made significant strides in advancing the doubling plan for the advanced manufacturing industry, adding 101 enterprises to the plan in 2023, bringing the total to 228. The implementation of the science and technology innovation leadership project in 2023 led to positive outcomes in transitioning to innovation-driven development. According to the "Global Innovation Index 2023," Xiamen ranked 80th globally in "science and technology clusters" and 81st in "scientific intensity," moving up 11 and 12 places from the previous year, respectively. In 2023, Xiamen secured 739 new projects with a planned investment of 88.06 billion yuan over three years.
