Xiamen's exhibition industry thrives with continuous success

Data reveals that in 2023, Xiamen hosted 152 exhibitions spanning an approximate total area of 2.26 million square meters, marking a 68.2% increase year-over-year. The city is on track to hit a target total area of 3 million square meters this year. Additionally, Xiamen held 4,383 meetings in 2023, attracting a total of 810,000 attendees, which represents a 155.3% increase from the previous year. Last year, the exhibition industry in Xiamen, with its three major clusters located in the Siming District's Huandao Road, Xiang'an District's Fengxiang New Town, and Huli District's Wuyuan Bay, achieved a balanced development both on and off the island, creating a thriving exhibition industry ecosystem. Xiamen's innovative "Exhibition + Industry" model stands out as a magnet for attracting top-tier exhibitions. This strategy involves a dual approach: forging precise links between the city's exhibitions and the pulse of various industries through strategic partnerships with industrial sectors, and leveraging the expertise of these sectors to elevate the calibre and branding of the exhibitions. This synergy not only enhances the quality of both the exhibitions and the industries they represent but also sets the stage for a dynamic exchange of ideas and resources. As Xiamen doubles down on its "4+4+6" strategy for modern industrial evolution, the city sees a vibrant uptick in specialized exhibitions. This boom in the exhibition sector is poised to catalyze the growth of Xiamen's service industry, creating a thriving ecosystem for consumption and innovation.
