Xiamen adds new homeport cruise line

The flagship of China's cruise industry, AIDA Cruises, will launch a new homeport cruise line in Xiamen starting March with its "Costa Mediterranea" vessel. Known as the "Ship of Art," the "Costa Mediterranea" will use Xiamen as its homeport for the first time from March to May this year, offering 15 journeys to Japan. The "Mediterranea" can accommodate 2,680 passengers and features 1,057 luxury rooms and suites. Additionally, this year, Xiamen will welcome three international cruise ships on global voyages. Other vessels, including "Aden," "Blue Dream Star," and "MSC Splendida," are also planning visits to Xiamen in the latter half of the year. These developments are set to inject robust momentum into Xiamen's ambition to become a world-class cruise homeport and to comprehensively develop the city's cruise industry chain.
