China's premier BRICS city cross-border e-commerce route surpasses 14,000 tons in cargo throughput

Launched in February 2023, Xiamen's trailblazing "Xiamen-São Paulo-Santiago-Xiamen" freight route, a first-of-its-kind for BRICS nations, has achieved a significant feat. Within months, this route has conducted 200 flights and transported an impressive total of over 14,000 tons of cargo. Serving as China's inaugural air freight line dedicated to cross-border e-commerce within the BRICS framework, it primarily focuses on exporting a diverse range of value-added products, including e-commerce goods, pharmaceuticals, high-tech items, and integrated circuits. This strategic route plays a crucial role in propelling Chinese brands and businesses into the Brazilian e-commerce market. Since its establishment, the route has successfully exported about 9,200 tons of merchandise, with cross-border e-commerce products forming approximately 70% of this volume.
