In the recently unveiled "2023 Chinese Cities Social Development Index for the New Era and Top 100 List", Xiamen secured the 18th spot nationwide and claimed the top position in Fujian Province. The city was outstanding in several primary indicators, ranking 3rd in the "Top 100 Cities in Ecological Progress and Environmental Governance" and 10th in the "Top 100 Cities in Population Development and Social Potential".
