China's first Minnan culture-based commercial and tourism complex launches in Xiamen

On December 12th, the first national commercial and tourism complex based on Minnan culture, officially launched in the Dongdu Cruise Center area of Xiamen, initiating its comprehensive marketing efforts. The project, with an estimated investment of about 2.3 billion yuan, covers an area of approximately 216,000 square meters. It integrates museum-style immersive performances, Minnan-themed immersive streets, a fantasy forest and sea square, and a trendy night-time economy zone, and is slated to open in mid-2025. Developed by Xiamen International Cruise Home Port Group Co., Ltd. under the Xiangyu Group, this complex is poised to become a new urban icon of Xiamen's coastal cultural tourism. Located in the Dongdu Cruise Center area of Xiamen, it seamlessly connects the tourist flow of Gulangyu and international and domestic cruise passengers. Xiamen Port is one of the first ports on the Chinese mainland to receive international cruises, with cruise tourism being an integral part of Xiamen's cultural tourism identity. Since the resumption of international cruise operations in October this year, Xiamen Port has operated 12 homeport voyages, serving 18,000 entry and exit passengers.
