At the 2023 County-level Industrial Economic Development Forum, hosted by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, the "Top 100 Industrial Counties (Cities)," "Top 100 Innovative Counties (Cities)," and "Top 100 Industrial Zones in China" for 2023 were announced. Three districts in Xiamen made it to the "Top 100 Industrial Zones in China" list. Haicang District, ranking 42nd, is a hub for three leading strategic emerging industries: biomedicine, integrated circuits, and new materials. Xiang'an District, ranked 64th, focuses on developing six leading industrial chains: electronics information, aviation industry, marine high-tech, cultural tourism and exhibition, new energy and materials, and biomedicine and health. Huli District, at 72nd, is implementing an advanced manufacturing industry doubling plan, accelerating industrial structure optimization and promoting new industrialization.
