The Fujian Provincial Department of Commerce recently issued the "Implementation Plan for Accelerating the Construction of the Fujian-Xiamen '1-Hour Living Circle' to Aid High-Quality Business Development." The plan proposes the deep integration of commerce, culture, and tourism to create consumer hotspots along the high-speed rail line. Xiamen is set to nurture and build itself as an international consumer center city, enhancing the commercial quality of areas like Zhongshan Road and Xiamen North Station, diversifying business types, and attracting the convergence of people, logistics, business, and capital flows. The plan includes developing commercial and travel functional areas around major venues like the Xiamen International Convention and Exhibition Center and expanding exhibition consumption. It supports the initiative to develop Xiamen Port and other ports as smart port pilot projects, continuously strengthening the infrastructure of ports to attract more goods to transit and gather at Fujian Province's ports.
