Xiamen ranks 6th in China's City Livability Index

On December 2nd, the "2023 China City Livability Index Analysis Report" was released in Beijing, ranking Xiamen 6th in overall livability among Chinese cities. The index evaluates livability across five domains: economic vitality and competitiveness, environmental protection and sustainability, urban safety and stability, social and cultural conditions, and urban governance. Xiamen, a key coastal center, port, and scenic tourist city in Southeast China, has been a forerunner in China's reform and opening-up policy. The city's economy is vibrant, highlighted by the China International Fair for Investment & Trade, one of the largest bilateral investment promotion events globally. By the end of 2022, Xiamen's Free Trade Pilot Zone had launched 521 innovative measures, with 126 being national firsts. The city's business environment excels in all 18 indicators, earning it the title of a national benchmark. The port's container throughput ranks 14th globally, and its airport is among the world's top 100. Furthermore, Xiamen is known for its high-quality innovation and entrepreneurship, focusing on building a "4+4+6" modern industrial system and nurturing over ten 100-billion-yuan industries like flat panel display and computer and communication equipment. Additionally, the city is lauded for its high-quality ecological gardens and harmonious community, having been awarded the title of National Civilized City for six consecutive terms.
