Songyu Wharf in Xiamen sets new record in handling mega container vessels

On December 1st, Xiamen's Songyu Wharf celebrated the inaugural docking of the 200,000-ton MSC TESSA. This marks a historic milestone as Songyu Wharf has successfully accommodated 100 voyages of 200,000-ton class container mega-vessels within the year, setting a new record in Fujian Province for the number of such large vessels handled by a single wharf. Following this, MSC TESSA will embark on the "Silk Road Shipping" route, connecting major ports in Asia and Europe, including Tanjung Pelepas in Malaysia, Colombo in Sri Lanka, Felixstowe in the United Kingdom, Bremen in Germany, and Rotterdam in the Netherlands. This route is among the busiest in global trade freight volume.
