Recently, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security's Foreign Talent Research Center released the 2022 China City Foreign Talent Attractiveness Index, with Xiamen ranked in the top 20. To attract more international talent, Xiamen has implemented several measures. In March, the "Xiamen City Talent Attraction Alliance" was established, now comprising 92 companies and 11 enterprises and institutions across sectors like electronics, machinery, financial services, biomedicine, and new materials. Additionally, Xiamen actively seeks talent beyond its borders, establishing an international talent workstation in Beijing to promote talent project collaboration and industry-academic-research cooperation between Xiamen and Beijing. Since 2017, Xiamen has been hosting an overseas entrepreneurship competition, drawing more returned scholars and international talent, with over 900 talent projects participating in areas like IT, artificial intelligence, smart manufacturing, and biomedicine.
