Xiamen has wrapped up its 2023 Golden Rooster & Hundred Flowers Film Festival on a high note, clinching agreements for 126 ventures in the cultural and cinematic sectors. These agreements, with a combined value of 28.05 billion yuan, include 10 major projects each worth over one billion yuan and 76 projects exceeding the 100 million yuan threshold, spanning from traditional film production to cultural tourism, AI, film-tech education, and even ventures into the burgeoning metaverse. The festival not only facilitated the actualization of these projects but also vigorously propelled the diversification of Xiamen's cultural and film industries. Over the past five years, with the Golden Rooster's boost, the city's film and TV business scene has exploded, now housing close to 2,400 enterprises. With a 10.2% annual increase in enterprise and institution numbers and a 17.8% rise in revenue growth, last year's tally hit 201.8 billion yuan, representing an added value that accounts for over 5% of Xiamen's total GDP, thereby carving out a cultural cornerstone in Xiamen's economic landscape.
