On October 31st, the regular direct flight route between Xiamen and Doha was officially launched. This marks the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Qatar. The new flight route will provide a broader "air silk road" facilitating economic and cultural exchanges between the two places. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the "Belt and Road" initiative, and Xiamen Airlines is actively opening and restoring several international routes. Currently, Xiamen has six intercontinental direct flight routes, connecting the city directly to Sydney, Melbourne, Paris, Amsterdam, Los Angeles, and Vancouver.
