The world's first hepatitis E virus antigen urine test kit, developed under the leadership of Xiamen University, was recently approved for market release. This is the first global diagnostic reagent for hepatitis E that targets urine antigens, filling a gap in related products and technologies. Moreover, its clinical evaluation results show an accuracy rate of 98.58%, which is of great significance for the clinical diagnosis and treatment management of global hepatitis E patients. In 2011, a team from Xiamen University developed the world's first hepatitis E vaccine, which has been applied in China and some other countries and regions.
