The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) recently released the "Global Innovation Index Report 2023," elevating Xiamen to the 80th position in the global "Technology Clusters," an 11-place rise from its 2022 ranking. The Global Innovation Index, authoritative and impactful, has been released by the WIPO since 2007, serving as a vane for global economic innovation and an essential reference for economic decision-making in various countries. Starting in 2017, a "Technology Clusters" topic was added, measuring clusters' technological output and innovation quality through PCT (Patent Cooperation Treaty) application volume and scientific publication scenarios (mainly including scientific papers). In 2022, Xiamen saw a net increase of 806 national high-tech enterprises, with a total exceeding 3,600; from January to June this year, the revenue of 725 national high-tech enterprises grew by more than 50% year-on-year, with 461 enterprises experiencing a year-on-year revenue growth of over 100%.
