A delegation from Xiamen recently visited South Africa to bolster the foundation of friendly and cooperative relations between the two localities. The trip aimed to further the construction of the BRICS New Industrial Revolution Innovation Base. An agreement was signed establishing a sister-city relationship, making Durban Xiamen's first African sister city. Both sides agreed to facilitate practical cooperation projects and cultural exchange activities in new energy, investment promotion, port development, and talent training, under the framework of the sister city and BRICS cooperation. This partnership seeks to advance the comprehensive strategic relationship between the two nations.
