On August 19th, the Egret Stadium, having earned accreditation as a Class 1 track and field venue from both the World Athletics Federation and China's Athletics Association, successfully hosted its "warm-up" event — the 2023 Xiamen Athletics Open and the World Athletics Diamond League Xiamen test race. This test rigorously assessed the stadium’s construction, traffic flow, electricity, network, and other essential systems. The stadium now meets the criteria to host international competitions. By August 28th, the Egret Stadium had passed its joint construction inspection, signaling that it is primed to be the main venue for the 2023 World Athletics Diamond League Xiamen event.
