The 2023 China Biopharmaceutical Industry Conference (Xiamen) opened on May 7. With the theme of "Building an Industrial Ecosystem for High-Quality Development," academicians from both the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as experts in biomedicine and healthcare from across the country, gathered in Xiamen to offer suggestions for the industry's development. The conference featured one main venue, four sub-venues, and eight seminars and satellite meetings, with multiple high-end forums and business matchmaking events. The biopharmaceutical and health industry is one of the four key strategic emerging industries in Xiamen's "4+4+6" modern industrial system and has become a benchmark industry showcasing the city's innovation capabilities. In recent years, Xiamen's biopharmaceutical and health industry has risen, and its industrial structure has been further optimized. At present, the industry has developed into a large industrial cluster comprising ten subsectors, including biopharmaceuticals, health equipment, functional foods, health care products, biological services, biological manufacturing, health services, biological agriculture, marine biology, and pharmaceutical e-commerce.
