On April 8, the world's largest container ship, the "MSC IRINA", developed independently by China, made its inaugural voyage to Xiamen port, setting a new record for mega-ships calling at the port. The vessel boasts impressive dimensions, measuring 399.99 meters in length and 61.3 meters in width. Its maximum capacity is an astounding 224,900 tons, and it can accommodate a staggering 24,346 TEU, setting a new world record for loading capacity. Furthermore, it is worth noting that on April 7, Xiamen port inaugurated a brand-new direct route to the Middle East. The colossal "MSC VANDYA" weighing 150,000 tons will traverse through Shekou port, Singapore port, tandem Jebel Ali port, Abu Dhabi port, and other crucial ports in the Middle East.
