Xiamen Port opens new East Coast route

On April 5, the 150,000-ton container ship "ONE MUNCHEN" berthed at the Xiamen International Container Terminal. The vessel, measuring 366 meters long, belongs to the Ocean Network Express (ONE), a member of THE Alliance, and is the first ship to operate on THE Alliance's new East Coast route (route code EC4) at Xiamen Port. The new route, operated by THE Alliance, one of the world's three major shipping alliances, plans to deploy 10 container ships with a capacity of 14,000 TEUs each, calling at Xiamen International Container Terminal every week. A single voyage is expected to contribute a container throughput of approximately 2,300 TEUs. The route passes through Vietnam, Singapore, and the Suez Canal and reaches the East Coast of the United States, providing convenient direct services to ports such as Savannah, Norfolk, Charleston, and New York for shippers. It is worth noting that this route is currently the shortest route from Xiamen Port to the port of Norfolk in the United States.
