The Xiamen Science and Technology Innovation Conference concluded last week with resounding success. The conference facilitated the signing of 10 city-wide strategic cooperation agreements of sites for universities and institutions. Additionally, 17 cooperation agreements were signed between innovation teams and R&D institutions, while 25 cooperation agreements were inked for major science and technology industrialization projects. In recent years, Xiamen has implemented several policies to foster city-universities collaboration and actively encouraged universities and institutes to establish new research and development institutions, technology transfer facilities, innovation centers, and other science and technology platforms in the city. Xiamen has also entered into agreements for specific projects in collaboration with teams of academicians from various universities. These include the introduction of the academician team of Peking University to set up the Xiamen Institute of Biomedical Innovation; the introduction of the academician team of the National Digital Construction Technology Innovation Center of Huazhong University of Science and Technology to set up the "Intelligent Perception Engineering Internet of Things (Xiamen) Laboratory" in Xiamen.
