Xiamen Science City officially launches

On March 29th, the Xiamen Science City was officially inaugurated at the Xiamen Scientific and Technological Innovation Conference. Simultaneously, a significant international collaborative innovation platform, the "Ocean Negative Carbon Emissions (ONCE)" Programme Secretariat, was established to support the national strategy. Xiamen Science City has been meticulously planned to span an impressive area of 34.12 square kilometers. Its primary objective is to serve as a fountainhead for original innovation, a melting pot for innovative talents, and a nurturing ground for future industries. Additionally, it aims to establish itself as a green and intelligent new city, thereby becoming a thriving innovative highland that supports and serves major nation-level regional strategies. The "Ocean Negative Carbon Emissions (ONCE)" international large-scale science program is spearheaded by Academician Jiao Nianzhi and his team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in collaboration with partners from across the globe. This groundbreaking initiative aims to establish a powerful science and technology consortium that will support the objective of achieving carbon neutrality.
