This year, Xiamen's foreign trade has welcomed a "good start." According to statistics from Xiamen Customs, the total value of Xiamen's imports and exports reached 148.23 billion yuan in the first two months of this year, an increase of 9.2% year-on-year, setting a new record for the same period. At the beginning of this year, Xiamen's foreign trade has presented five main characteristics: private enterprises are the largest foreign trade entities in Xiamen. Xiamen's exported products are mainly mechanical and electrical products and labor-intensive products. Xiamen's imported products are mainly metal ore, mechanical and electrical products, and agricultural products. Besides, ASEAN, the European Union, and the United States are the top three trading partners of Xiamen. Xiamen also keeps deepening its trade with BRICS nations.
