Xiamen Port established friendly port relationships with 16 international ports

On March 2nd, Xiamen Port in China and Laem Chabang Port in Thailand held an online signing ceremony to establish an international friendly port relationship. Laem Chabang Port became the 16th friendly port to sign a contract with Xiamen Port. In the future, the two sides will strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of shipping, logistics, port management, and information technology. 2022 marks the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Thailand, and China-Thailand trade has exceeded 100 billion US dollars for two consecutive years. Last year, Xiamen's total import and export volume with Thailand reached 3.5 billion US dollars, and there were more than 40 Thai-invested enterprises in Xiamen. Xiamen Port and Laem Chabang Port are two important major ports on the shipping route linking Southeast Asia and Northeast Asia. The two ports are of similar size and have complementary advantages, providing a good basis for cooperation and development prospects. Currently, there are 32 shipping routes from Xiamen Port to Thailand, of which 21 routes are connected to Laem Chabang Port, and the shipping business between the two ports is continuously growing.
