The State Council has recently approved the integration of Xiamen Xiangyu Free Trade Zone and Xiamen Xiangyu Comprehensive Bonded Area into a new comprehensive bonded area. With a planned area of 0.64 square kilometers, the integrated and optimized comprehensive bonded area (CBA) signifies that all customs special supervision zones of Xiamen have been transformed into CBAs. Approved by the State Council on October 15, 1992, Xiamen Xiangyu Free Trade Zone is one of China's earliest customs special supervision zones. It also ranked No.1 in the National Development Performance Evaluation of Customs Special Supervision Zones 2021 by its outstanding quality and performance, marking the only CBA in Fujian that is rated "Grade A" both in the nationwide and the East China performance evaluations.
