On December 27, 2021, Zhong Nanshan, Zheng Xiaoying, Chen Liren, and other 7 people were honored as honorable citizens of Xiamen. As Zhong Nanshan and Zheng Xiaoying were not born in Xiamen, this also marks the first time that this reward is granted to an outstanding domestic contributor who is not from Xiamen. By now, a total of 241 citizens have received this honor. For years, these honorable citizens have made active contributions to and taken the lead in promoting international exchange and cooperation, attracting investment, and facilitating the economic and social development of Xiamen, so that more global entrepreneurs and interested parties would keep an eye on Xiamen and devote themselves to building Xiamen.
