According to the White Paper of Xiamen on the Survey of Industrial Enterprises Above the Designated Scale in the Kitchen and Bath Appliance Industry, Xiamen ranks top with 2930 patents in a ranking of patents for China's major advantageous production areas of sanitary products in 2021. Meanwhile, among the Chinese applicants of globally-open patents, 4 out of the top 20 applicants are Xiamen-based companies, namely RUNNER, Lota, R&T, and Solex. Xiamen is one of the major manufacturing bases of global high-end water-heating, kitchen, and bathroom products, while the sanitary product industry is one of the ten-billion industrial chains fostered by Xiamen. According to the latest data, Xiamen now owns more than 270 kitchen and bathroom product manufacturers, among which 131 are above the designated scale. Last year, the total output of Xiamen's sanitary product industry reached RMB 33 billion, and the total import and output volume of surveyed enterprises stood at RMB 15.657 billion, accounting for 47.44% of the total output.
