Xiamen boosts utilization of foreign capital

November 29 saw the 30th birthday of ABB Xiamen Switchgear Co., Ltd., ABB's first joint venture company in China. After thirty years of development, ABB has established 6 companies in Xiamen, represented by ABB Xiamen Industrial Center, situated in Torch (Xiang'an) Industrial Zone, as ABB's largest and most advanced manufacturing base in the world. This epitomizes the dynamic business environment of Xiamen. As of this July, more than 17,000 foreign-invested enterprises from more than 120 countries and regions had been established in Xiamen. As of the end of this July, 64 Fortune Global 500 companies had set up 115 foreign-invested enterprises in Xiamen with a foreign direct investment (FDI) of USD 3.65 billion, including ABB, Dell, GE, Swire Group, Schneider, and Linde. Currently, Xiamen is aggressively advancing industrial transformation and upgrade, constructing a modern industrial system, and facilitating a plan for the advanced manufacturing industry to double its scale in the next five years.
