The private sector is the feature, driver, and advantage of Xiamen's economy. In the past ten years, the private sector of Xiamen has maintained sound development resilience and the added value of the private sector has increased from 67.93 billion yuan to 341.78 billion yuan, contributing to more than 40% of tax revenues and nearly 40% of import and export amount. In 2021, Xiamen had 744,000 private enterprises, accounting for 97.56% of all the enterprises across the city. 81 private enterprises are listed in and outside China, accounting for more than 80% of all the listed companies in Xiamen. Insisting on innovation-driven development, all those private enterprises play an essential role in building the "4+4+6" modern industry system for Xiamen.
