Recently, the World intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) released the Global Innovation Index 2022. The report indicates that Xiamen's "Science and Technology Clusters" (S&T Clusters) and "Science and Technology Intensity" (S&T Intensity) respectively ranked 91st and 93rd in the world, a first for both. In particular, the global ranking of Xiamen's "S&T Cluster" has risen 12 spots compared with last year, making it one of the Chinese cities with the largest rise in ranking. This symbolizes the internationalization of Xiamen's scientific and technological innovation. The Global Innovation Index is jointly set up by the World intellectual Property Organization, Cornell University, and the Institut Européen d'Administration des Affaires (INSEAD). It is charged with ranking the top innovation capabilities of about 130 countries and economies around the world every year. Its report is regarded as the weather vane of global economic innovation and an important reference for economic decision-making of various countries.
