Recently, Xiamen Municipal People's Government issued Xiamen's Work Plan for building an Exemplary City in Intellectual Property Development in China (2022-2025), officially setting the work in motion. Xiamen aims to establish a high-standard intellectual property protection system to boost the creation and application of productive intellectual properties. This will create a high-quality intellectual property service environment and facilitate the coordinated development of high-level intellectual property rights. The work plan proposed four major tasks related to intellectual property protection system, creation and application, the service environment, and coordinated development. In addition, the work plan also set forth several targets involving the creation, application, and protection of intellectual property rights as well as relevant services. In August, Xiamen was successfully elected as a "National Exemplary City for Intellectual Property Development". The pilot demonstration period will extend from July 2022 to June 2025.
