The General Office of the Ministry of Commerce recently released the result of the second evaluation for the first batch of national culture export bases. The National Culture Export Base of Xiamen Free Trade Zone has been rated No.1 in the functional area class for two consecutive years. Since June 2018, the base has expanded the cultural bonded business and cultural trades and boosted industrial upgrade around artworks, creative design, film & performance, digital content & new media, press, publication, and distribution by taking the advantage of the pilot area of Xiamen FTZ, the economic zone, the core area of Marine Silk road, and the geographical proximity with Taiwan. Data shows that, in 2020 and 2021, the base achieved a total import and export amount of culture products and services amounting to 22 billion yuan, with a two-year average growth of 12.87%. By 2021, a total of 2,273 cultural enterprises had been registered, with a total registered capital of 19.401 billion yuan. According to statistics, the base now accommodates 17 national key enterprises of culture export and 3 major export projects, leading all the 29 bases nationwide in terms of the number of major export enterprises.
