On July 30, Xiamen Municipal Bureau of Statistics released the commercial and trade economic data for the first half of 2022. According to the data, the wholesale and retail sales industry of Xiamen registered a sales volume of 1.877163 trillion yuan, up by 26.6% over the same period last year. The growth rate of the wholesale industry topped the province. The wholesale and retail sales industry above the designated quota registered a sales volume of 1.711422 trillion yuan, up by 29.0% over the same period last year. The trading of bulk commodities and apparel became the main driver of growth. Domestic consumption also witnessed a continuous recovery. Internet retail saw a double-digit growth proven by booming offline consumption and sales as well as improved and expanded online consumption. Besides, the catering industry also embraced a powerful pickup.
