According to the "Top 100 Most Powerful Cities in China 2022" recently released by Warton Economic Institute, Xiamen ranks 26. According to the initial estimation released in the Statistical Bulletin of the Xiamen on National Economic and Social Development 2021, the regional gross domestic product (GDP) of last year was RMB 703.389 billion, up by 8.1% year on year at comparable prices. The increment is on par with the GDP increment announced by the state just now. According to the Bulletin, the GDP increment of Xiamen ranks No.1 in Fujian province in 2021; the per capita GDP remains above USD 20,000, surpassing the international level for a junior developed economy. News has it that Warton Economic Institute, formerly known as Shanghai Economic Development Research Institute founded in 1988, is China's first advisory body for all-rounded and comprehensive studies on the macroeconomy, regional economy, and corporate development.
