Xiamen's cruise economy rebounds

On the evening of July 2, the "China Merchants Aden Hospitality" cruise liner left Xiamen Port with 235 passengers on board. This is the first loaded cruise liner that Xiamen has received after the outbreak of COVID-19, marking a key step for the cruise industry toward recovery after more than 900 days of stillness. Ports are the foundation of Xiamen and the underlying advantages of its competitiveness. As introduced by Xiamen Administration of Ports, Xiamen Port, as one of the four pilot cruise liner ports in China, has received cruise liners since 1980s. The industry has always led the nation in development quality. In 2019, Xiamen International Cruise Homeport ranked 2nd and 4th in China in terms of the number of cruise liners received and the number of passengers. The cruise economy is a shining name card for Xiamen's port, shipping, logistics, cultural tourism, and exhibition industries with output of one hundred billion yuan.
