Xiamen wields blockbuster measures to expedite development of air freight industry

On July 1, the Several Measures of Xiamen to Further Accelerate the High-quality Development of Cross-border Air Freight took effect and is valid until December 31, 2025. With a subsidy totaling RMB 1.7 billion expected to be paid in the next three years, the document covers 18 specific measures in 9 aspects to cultivate a batch of stably operated and regular cargo air routes. The cargo and mail throughput of Xiamen Airport is expected to reach 180,000 tons in 2023 and 200,000 tons in 2024, entering the second echelon of China's cross-border cargo airports. The Measures are mainly designed to increase the international competitiveness of Xiamen Airport in terms of air freight, improve the business environment of cross-border trades, serve the entry of "three-high" enterprises (high technology, high potential, high added value) into the global supply chain market, and satisfy the needs of export-oriented high-end enterprises for air transport capabilities.
